Parent Testimony - Class of '28

A Riverhawk parent tells about her son's experience as a 9th grader in Fall 2024.

"We initially chose CNA because we wanted Dominic to be surrounded by other Catholic families and students living the faith.

What we encountered in the school was better than we could have ever expected. At previous schools, we have only experienced 25+ student class sizes. The small class size has made a huge impact on Dominic and his grades. He has admitted it is much easier to focus and participate and he enjoys the classroom conversations.  The class size has allowed more field trips and activities, for example, the freshman natural history field lab and its weekly field trip. The opportunities to learn off campus are really exciting.

Dominic has really enjoyed the student-chosen elective. It's great they can offer classes like guitar, art, and archery. This semester there is a great group of kids playing sports in the P.E. elective.

I am really impressed with the red and black team building days. From the first week of school these events helped break the ice. They are creative ways to get to know each other. Alternatively the early release on Friday is a nice way to begin the weekend.

I personally feel that the positive attitude of the students can be attributed to the graces they receive from daily mass. The school day is long and demanding and having a quiet period is necessary. It's a new innovation in learning.

When asked what Dominic likes about CNA, he says "The students!" There is a lot of camaraderie among the students. He has found like-minded friends. He says they always find a way to include everyone.

The speakers the school has brought in have had a big impact on Dominic. He has relayed stories of personal encounters with living Saints and firsthand accounts of veteran soldiers. I look forward to more inspiring speakers.

This year Dominic has such a positive attitude toward school. I have noticed such a shift in maturity in how Dominic handles homework and responsibilities."
