At Newman, we believe that learning is a journey, a climb towards greater truth, goodness, and beauty. Our mission is to form and equip Christian citizens to be salt and light in the modern world.
Our students gain systematic knowledge of the Catholic intellectual tradition. Inspired by John Henry Newman, we foster a “philosophic habit of mind,” encouraging students to see how different fields of knowledge interrelate and fit into a larger whole.
Our teachers live their faith authentically, dedicating themselves to forming young people. Through policies, athletics, and extracurriculars, we cultivate a community of virtue. Living in truth brings true freedom (Jn 8:32), and we model the joy of the Christian life. As St. Irenaeus says, ‘The glory of God is man fully alive.’
“The vision for the school, centered on Christ, is a public witness to our Catholic faith and culture, and it is vitally important in the lives of our young people.”
We embrace the call to joyful service in our community. Each week our 11th graders volunteer at St. Francis - Manchester Assisted Living facility. They get to know the residents and bring them joy through performing music, leading activities, and more.
Our students serve and lector at St. Anthony Catholic Church during the week. Some students also volunteer at local festivals such as the St. Benedict Oktoberfest, the Churchhill Irish Festival, and the Lebanese Food Festival.
